On Monday I submitted these three models for consideration for ArtWalk, a public art display along the Rivertrail in Lansing, Michigan. There are a number of sites under bridges where I could hang scaled up versions. I feel that not only do I have perfect hang points from the girders of the bridge, but also the protection from the worse of any inclement weather and wind. My intent is to hang them so they are over the water or embankment as an added safety measure. I am always thinking safety when planning and by using solid rings and continuous armature, fail points are eliminated. I have tested the connections in full scale last summer with mobiles hung in the maple tree in my back yard. In a way this will be another test and I am planning of putting a camera up to monitor the mobile in high winds. 2 of the designs should act like weather vanes. The design called "Kidneys on air" is the most likely to entangle itself, but it shouldn't fail.
